About Me
Dr. Cassandra Giornali Sorrell
Thank you for your interest. My personal and professional experiences, as well as an interest in understanding wants, needs and drives, led me to pursue a Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2004 and then a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree to further advance my knowledge and expertise in the field. Psychology is a second career for me. I have been involved in the counseling field since 2004, and began my transition from a corporate career in sports (National Football League) and entertainment (Sony Pictures) in 2006. My education, background and, I believe just as importantly, life experiences, contribute to my ability to be a compassionate, attuned and empathetic therapist.
I have always been motivated to help others, which is why I roll up my sleeves and work along side clients to help discover and resolve what is standing in the way of achieving a more satisfying, successful and fulfilling life. My skills as a therapist and the positive results achieved by clients have helped create recognition among clients and peers in the South Bay, which has contributed to an increasingly busy private practice in Hermosa Beach.
I am active within the beach cities community, registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, and a member in good standing with the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists since 2004. Along with counseling, my other passion for which I dedicate my free time is to help rescue dogs find loving homes.
